<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure in which a door can be surely locked and a vehicle body rear member for a sliding door and for a hinge door can be used in common. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle body structure is provided with a plurality of lock parts J1, J2, J3 composed of a door 4 for opening and closing a door opening 3 formed in a vehicle, and a latch 661 and a striker 662 for holding the door at a closing position D1 for closing the door opening 3, wherein at least one of the plurality of the lock parts is a pillar lock part provided in a pillar composing an edge part of the door opening.
