PURPOSE: An automatic battery change method and system for a robot are provided to keep the robot operate during battery change at a docking station by supplying electric power to the robot continuously. CONSTITUTION: An automatic battery change system for a robot comprises a robot(110) which can move by itself and separates the battery automatically, and a docking station(120) which mounts a battery to the robot automatically. The robot comprises a communication unit with an infrared receiver, a controller with a battery control unit, a driving part, and a battery.
