The present invention relates to a method for producing glutathione using glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine as reaction substrates by a combination of photosynthetic cell membrane vesicles and an enzyme for catalyzing glutathione synthesis. As for a method using an enzyme catalyzing the glutathione synthesis, there is a method of using gamma glutamylcysteine and a glutathione synthetic enzyme together, or a method using a bi-functional glutathione synthetic enzyme. The synthesis of glutathione has a problem in that expensive adenosine triphosphate needs to be continuously supplied, but the present invention can continuously produce glutathione without an additional input of adenosine triphosphate by using photosynthetic cell membrane vesicles as a supply source of adenosine triphosphate, thereby greatly contributing to the reduction in the production cost of glutathione. |
