Provided is a solid-state imaging device which drives pixels at high speed with concurrency property maintained and with pixel blurring reduced. Also provided is an electronic apparatus to which the solid-state imaging device is applied. The solid-state imaging device comprises: a first chip (2) which includes a plurality of pixels (4); and a second chip (3) in which a plurality of pixel drive circuits (11) adapted to drive the pixels (4) are formed, and which is laminated beneath the first chip. Each of the pixels (4) comprises a light sensing unit which generates a signal charge in accordance with the amount of received light, and a plurality of MOS transistors which read the signal charge generated by the light sensing unit and which output the read signal charge as a pixel signal. The pixels (4) are formed in the first chip (2). The pixel drive circuits (11) supply desired drive pulses to the pixels (4), and are formed in the second chip (3). Furthermore, the second chip (3) is laminated beneath the pixels (4) formed in the first chip (2) in such a manner that one of the pixel drive circuits (11) is disposed beneath a corresponding one of the pixels (4).
