[Also in Division F2] A suspension device for a ceiling carrier 11 comprises a strip 1 and a helically wound wire 7 screwed on to the strip in engagement with a series of recesses 6 or holes (not shown) at both its edges. The strip can be cut to any required length and may be bent over at one end so that it may be secured to a joist 2 either by a staple (not shown) engaging recesses 6 or by a screw passing through a hole 5 of a series of preformed holes arranged centrally of the strip. The lower end of the spring is recessed to carry a retaining washer 10 by means of which the carrier 11 is supported. The spring 7 may be rotated when the carrier 11 rests on the washer 10 so that the height of the carrier may be adjusted. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown) the spring 7 is secured to the joist 2 and the strip 1 is rotatably secured to the carrier 11.
