Fungitoxic compositions comprise at least one thiol-phosphoric acid ester of the general formula:- <FORM:1036287/A5-A6/1> where R is a straight or branched chain alkyl radical which may be halogen-substituted, or a cycloalkyl radical which may be alkyl-substituted, R1 is a linear or branched-chain alkyl radical, R11 is an aryl radical which may be substituted by halogen atoms and/or alkyl, alkoxy and/or nitro groups, and n is O or 1, with the proviso that when n = O, R11 is free of nitro and alkoxy groups, and when n = 1, R11 is other than a fluorophenyl radical, in admixture with a solid diluent or carrier or in admixture with an organic solvent and an emulsifying agent capable of producing a stable emulsion when diluted with water or in admixture with water containing an organic solvent and/or an emulsifying agent. The compositions may be in the form of emulsifiable concentrates, spray powders, pastes, soluble powders, dusting agents and granulates. Non-ionic and anionic emulsifiers are specified. The invention also comprises a method for preventing the growth of fungi on plants, comprising applying to the plants an ester of the formula given above, alone or in admixture with a solid or liquid diluent or carrier. |
