<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and efficiently sort images composing time-series images. <P>SOLUTION: A variation calculation part 751 calculates a variation of each intra-tube image composing time-series images captured by a capsule endoscope moving in a tube and stored in a portable recording medium 50 from another image close to the image concerned out of the time-series images. A section setting part 752 sets a prescribed time-series section based on a variation between images.
