In a break spinning device means to detect the absence of a yarn in the delivery tube 8 is provided and linked to means to stop withdrawal of yarn when such absence occurs so that the broken yarn end remains in the tube above the position of the detection means. As shown photo-electric means 23, 24 are provided to detect yarn absence in tube 8 and a signal therefrom is fed to an amplifier 25 which in turn operates magnetic couplings Ml, M2 to stop the delivery rollers 9 and the fibre feeding rollers 4, 5. In addition a solenoid 16 is energized to displace an armature 17 and thus move a lever 14 pivoted at 13. A yarn guide bar 15 is thus lifted to remove the yarn 7<SP>1</SP> from the grooved driving roll 11 and a sector 20 is pivoted about 19 to brake the wind up spool 10 and lift it clear of the driving roll 11. The lever 14 also operates a counter 26 which thus indicates the number of yarn breaks. A capacative device or a pressure difference device may be used in place of the photo-electric device to detect yarn breaks.</p> |
