Novel steroids of the formula (wherein R 1 is a free, esterified or etherified OH group; R 2 is a free or esterified OH group; R 3 and R 4 are each H or F, and at least one is F; and R 5 is #-OH together with a hydrogen atom or oxo) are prepared by oximation of the corresponding 3-ketones. Any esterified or etherified OH groups in the products may be liberated in known manner. The steroid 3-oximes have anti-inflammatory and thymolytic activity and may be made up into pharmaceutical compositions with suitable carriers. |
