<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten the security and convenience when printing is interrupted, and to minimize wasting of paper resources resulting from the interruption. <P>SOLUTION: When abnormalities preventing continuation occur in a printer 30 and printing is interrupted, printing is canceled (interrupted) and a print job in a storage part 23 of a print server 20 would be returned to suspension and returned to the state before printing directions. Thus, when performing this printing once again, it would not be necessary to return to a client terminal 10 and to direct printing again, and it is only necessary to perform re-authentication by an authentication device 50 equipped with the printer 30. The paper resources which have been printed till interruption of printing are managed per number of copies.
