Wax compositions consists of a mixt of (I) a petroleum wax, (II) a reinforcing ethylene copolymer, and (IIIe an adhesion promoting additive consisting of a copolymer contg. at least 85 mole% ethylene and 0.15-5 mole % unsatd. Carboxylic acid or anhydride. The incorporation of (III) improves the adhesive properties of the wax compsn. the degree of adhesion being dependent upon the amount of (III) added. The compositions bond more firmly to substrates. The presence of component (II) improves the strength of coatings based on the composn. |
