PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain recording density exceeding diffraction limit of light. SOLUTION: A reflective slider 7 reflecting a part of light converged by an objective lens 5 is provided at a side opposite to the objective lens 5 by holding a recording medium 6 therebetween. The reflective slider 7 is constituted by forming a metallic reflective film of thickness smaller than a wavelength of a light source at a flank of a cabinet made of a transparent material and is arranged near the recording medium. Thereby only a central part of the converged light is reflected by an end face of the reflective film, size of the reflected light is not greater than a wavelength of the light in a film thickness direction of the reflective film and a region of size not greater than the wavelength on a recording layer 8 is irradiated with the reflected light. |
