<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium battery which increases its capacity by enhancing filling-up rate of a positive electrode active material in a positive electrode layer. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium battery has a positive electrode layer and a negative electrode layer for occluding and discharging lithium and an electrolyte layer for mediating conduction of a lithium ion between the positive and negative electrode layers. The positive electrode active material included in the positive electrode layer of the lithium battery has two or more peaks on an amount of distribution in the particle size distribution. Thus, a ratio (filling-up rate) of the active material in the positive electrode layer is raised since the active materials with smaller particle sizes are arranged so as to bury a gap between the active materials with larger particle sizes. Consequently, the lithium battery has high discharge capacity when comparing the lithium battery having the positive electrode layer with the same thickness with the conventional lithium battery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
