<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system which calculates and displays the transmission delay amount, prior to the operation start of the system, and thereby solves, prior to the start of service, the problem, wherein heretofore for measuring the transmission delay amount, until the operation of the system is started, it does not become clear that a normal service can not be provided, and which thus realizes a high-reliability system at low cost, in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmission system is provided, wherein a repeater 2 and each slave unit 4 has stored a parameter that is a fixed delay time within an apparatus; and when the system is started, the repeater 2 and each slave unit 4 measure a delay amount of an optical line connected to a master port, each slave unit 4 transmits the measured optical line delay amount and the parameter to the repeater 2, and the repeater 2 transmits own parameter, the parameter of the slave unit 4 and the optical line delay amount to a maintenance tool 6. On the basis of these transmitted parameters and the delay amount, the maintenance tool 6 then calculates and displays the transmission delay time of each optical fiber and the delay time to a radio output terminal of each slave unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
