<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio signal transmitter capable of recognizing an operation performed in an externally connected device, and to provide an audio signal receiver, an audio signal playback system, an audio signal playback method, and a program. <P>SOLUTION: An audio signal transmitter includes: an external device operating status confirming section for confirming presence of an external connection device connectable to the relevant audio signal transmitter and its operation status; a device connection control section for controlling the connection of the external connection device and the audio signal transmitter on the basis of the working status of the external connection device; a connection management information transmitting section for transmitting, to the externally connected device connected to the audio signal transmitter, connection management information including channel mapping information representing classes of audio signals being transmitted on a plurality of channels, respectively: and an audio signal transmitting section for transmitting audio signals to the externally connected device connected to the audio signal transmitter in accordance with the channel mapping information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
