Manufacture of diamonds C and at least one metal powder from group IV B including boron, VB or VIB, or Os, Ir, or Pt are introduced into a metallic ingot. Wt. ratio C:metal is 2.1:.4. The mass is heated at 1400-1800 degrees C for about 8 hrs. and cooled to ambient temp., and the metallic matrix is dissolved. The ingot metal is Al, Li, Zn, Al/Zn, Al/Ni, Al/Sn, and metal powder Ti, V, W, B, Ta, Os, Zr, or Ta-W, V-Pt, or Ta-Pt. |
