1288291 Making connecting rods DANFOSS AS 30 Sept 1969 [8 Oct 1968] 48001/69 Heading B3A [Also in Division F2] A connecting-rod comprises a shaft 3 and a separately-manufactured eccentric-crank bearing head 6 formed of tubing and a pre-formed sheet-metal part 8, the rod being made by first attaching the shaft to the tube by, for example, welding in order to bring the parts to the correct position and then soldering the pre-formed sheet-metal part to these parts. The shaft, cut from a bar, is welded to a steel ball 5 and then pushed through the part 8 before being welded to the tube. The soldering material is then added and the whole assembly passed through a soldering furnace. |
