A doctor blade is used for spreading and levelling and a curved part near the trailing edge brushes along the paper on the roller. The curved part is fixed with a straight section in a rigid holder. Specifically, the straight part is at an angle of 25 - 50 degrees to the tangent of the rubber-coated roller, at the location of the trailing edge.
