摘要 Epoxide derivatives of polyether polyols are reacted with Sb Cl3 or Sb Br3 to give antimony (III) esters containing at least 3 isocyanate reactive groups. The antimionite esters so prepared together with other antimonite esters (see Division C2) all of which have the general formula (RV)m Sb Xn wherein X is chlorine or bromine, V is oxygen or sulphur, R is an alkyl group (in which the carbon chain may be interrupted by oxygen atoms) which may contain epoxy and/or hydroxyl groups and which may be substituted by aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic (in which O, S and/or N are the hetero atoms) groups; chlorine or bromine atoms; ketonic, aldehydic, carboxylic, acetal, amino, amido, ureido or ureylene groups; or -(RY)m- 1 Sb Xn groups; m is 1, 2 or 3, n is ), 1 or 2 and m + n is 3; which compounds contain at least 3 isocyanate reactive groups, at least one of which is an <FORM:1096435/C3/1> group and which yield an hydrolysis of the antimony group or groups a polyether polyol (or polythiol) having 3-10-YH groups and a -YH number of 200-750 are reacted with organic polyisocyanates in the presence of a blowing agent such as a fluorine and/or chlorine substituted hydrocarbon, and possibly in the presence of another polyol and/or emulsifiers to give fire resistant foams.ALSO:Polyethers of the formula (RY)mSbXn wherein m is 1, 2 or 3, n is 0, 1 or 2, m + n is 3, X is chlorine or bromine, Y is oxygen or sulphur, and R is an alkyl group (in which the carbon chain may be interrupted by one or more oxygen atoms) which may contain epoxy and/or hydroxyl groups and which may be substituted by aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic (in which oxygen, sulphur and/or nitrogen are the hetero atoms) groups; chlorine or bromine atoms; ketonic, aldehydic, carboxylic, acetal, amino, amido, ureido or ureylene groups or groups of the formula -(RY)m- 1SbXn; which compounds contain at least 3 isocyanate reactive groups at least one of which is an <FORM:1096435/C2/1> group and which yield on hydrolysis of the antimony group or groups a polyether polyol (or polythiol) having 3-10-YH groups and a -YH number of 200-750 are made by reacting SbCl3 or SbBr3 with a polyether polyol which is in the form of an alkali metal derivative or an epoxide hydrolysable to the polyol or by transesterifying the polyol with a lower alkyl antimonate.
