1305781 Cracking hydrocarbon oils MOBIL OIL CORP 13 Jan 1970 [29 Jan 1969] 1609/70 Addition to 1218080 Heading C5E [Also in Division B1] Hydrocarbons are cracked using a catalyst prepared by mixing an alkali metal silicate with a particulate weighting agent, aging the mixture at pH 8-10, reducing the pH to 4-7 to form a silica gel-weighting agent matrix, mixing the matrix with a particulate ionexchanged zeolite having a Na-content not more than 4À3 wt. per cent to form a composite, drying the composite in the form of particles with a pore volume of at least 0.6 c.c./g., ionexchanging the composite with a solution containing NH 4 + to an overall Na-content less than 4 wt. per cent and then with a solution containing rare earth and/or aluminium ions. Examples describe the cracking of wide cut gas oil at 925‹ F. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,088,159. |
