<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel battery module and a starting method therefor which keep a starting burner incorporated in the battery module in a stable burning state and control the amount of heat generation to enable quick startup. <P>SOLUTION: The solid oxide fuel battery module enabling quick startup incorporates therein an anode burner and a cathode burner for starting the fuel battery module, and includes a unit that supplies a first fluid serving as a fuel and a second fluid serving as an oxidant to either of the anode burner and the cathode burner, and a unit that supplies a third fluid different from the first and second fluids.
