<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driver that does not cause rotor operation to be unstable when stopping the drive of a motor once and resuming the drive, an image reading apparatus, an image forming apparatus, and a motor driving method. <P>SOLUTION: The motor driver has a plurality of excitation modes, is capable of shifting from one excitation mode to another excitation mode, and drives a stepping motor having a rotor mounted on a rotating shaft thereof. In this driver, a motor control section 103 controls the rotor so as to move it to a position corresponding to the excitation mode, drives the stepping motor. When stopping the stepping motor, the motor control section also stops the rotor at a position where the rotor moves in common after the stop of the rotor is instructed and in a plurality of excitation modes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
