<p>The surface treatment consists of application of an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution (NaOH of density 1.1-2.25) for 15 sec.-3 min. to the plastics surface. Polyethylene terephthalate is given a hydrophilic surface by this process, and after usual sensitising the activating treatments it is suitable for metal plating.</p> |
