The processing of broad band signals from a magnetic pick-up is achieved by selecting the pick-up inductance of the windings such that the resonant frequency lies above the upper limit of the frequency band. This enables prior amt. pick-up resonance compensation stages to be eliminated and the signal to noise ratio to be improved. The pick-up signal (1) is processed over a transformer (7) to increase the induced voltage. The signal is processed over two cosine correction stages (3,4) and a final compensating network (6) to provide a linear frequency characteristic. |
