<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of a conventional lead-acid battery that life characteristics in cycle use requiring deep discharge in a high temperature environment is not satisfactory. <P>SOLUTION: The lead-acid battery uses a positive plate in which a polyfluoroethylene layer is formed on the surface of a positive plate comprising a positive grid and a positive active material filled in the positive grid. Alternatively, a paper-like sheet is installed on the surface of the positive plate comprising the positive grid and the positive active material filled in the positive grid, and polyfluoroethylene is impregnated in the paper-like sheet and the surface of the positive plate.
