<p>Isoximes of formula (I): (where R and R' are alkyl gps. or together with adjacent C-atom form a cycloaliphatic ring) are prepd. by reacting a ketone RCR'O and aqs. NH3 soln. with a hypochlorite soln. in presence of organic solvent immiscible with water, at -10 to +50 degrees C, pref. 0-25 degrees C. The isoximes are suitable as starting materials for e.g. epsilon-caprolactam using cyclohexanone oxime. The isoximes can transfer their NH gp. and are thus useful for synthesis of hydrazines hydroxylamines and semicarbazides.</p> |
