Glass fiber yarn production, using an air cushion for cushioning raised drawn threads during deflection from a drawing surfa is new. A multiple glass fiber strand is produced by drawing out parallel adjacent glass threads using a rotating drawing surface, raising and deflecting the threads from the drawing surface after a predetermined dwell time, bundling the raised threads transv to the rotational direction of the drawing surface and drawing in a direction parallel to the drawing surface radial direction, air cushion being formed for cushioning the threads during deflection. An Independent claim is also included for apparatus for multiple glass fiber strand production, comprising a guide (9) with funnel-like structure (12) and a deflection section (10) with a diversion space. |
