A component of a crimpable conjugate filament is a block copolymer derived from 20- 70% of a homopoly ester or amide and 80- 30% of a random copoly ester or amide. The homopolymer is nylon-6, 6À6, or 6À10; or poly ethylene terephthalate or pivalolactone. The random copolymer is derived from two or more of nylon-6, 11, 6À6, and 6À10 monomers or caproate, ethylene adipate, ethylene terephthalate, and ethylene sebacate; or is polyethylene/2,2 dimethyl propylene terephthalate. The other component is nylon-6, 8, 6À6, or 11À12; or polyethylene terephthalate, pivalolactone, propylene, or ethylene terephthalate/isophthalate and is 30-55% of the whole. The spun filament may be of side-by-side or sheath/core type; and may be cold or hot drawn and annealed. |
