摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the sufficient amount of Al can not be included in quartz crystal in such a technique as to replace Si in crystal with Al by adding aluminum hydroxide or aluminum carbonate into an aqueous alkaline solution as an additive when implementing a hydrothermal synthesis method for growing artificial quartz. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a production method for a polycrystalline quartz body comprising: a process for mixing the powder of quartz or sodium silicate with that of a compound containing aluminum; a process for heat-fusing the mixed powders; a process for slow-cooling the heat-fused material to obtain a quartz glass; and a process for hydrothermally treating the quartz glass to obtain the polycrystalline quartz body.
