Novel title cpds (I) and intermediates (II) have formula: (where R=1-20C alkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, 3-6C cycloalkyl, 1-3C cycloalkyl-3-6C alkyl, hydroxy-1-6C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxy-1-4C alkyl, aryl-1-3C alkyl R1=H, 1-6C alkyl n=1,2 or 3 Z=O H, OR, halo, Sr3 R3=1-6C alkyl) (I) may be prepared by heating II Z=OR opt. with a catalyst or by reaction of II Z=OH with an R-ester of a strong acid and pref. an acid acceptor. I R1=alkyl may be hydrolysed to give I R1=H if desired.
