Bleaching of cellulose-or keratin-contg fibres, synthetic fibres or their mixtures, with uniform bleaching effect of percarbonate solns is carried out by using a bath contg 0.5-4% hydrogen peroxide, related to the fibre weight, and 1/10 -1/2 mol (related to the hydrogen peroxide) carbonate ions or bicarbonate ions per mol. hydrogen peroxide, and buffer substances and stabilisers for active oxygen; the bath having a pH-value of 5.5 - 7.5 and the bleaching process being carried out at 50-100 degrees C. |
