Two channels, each with radiator, photomultiplier and camera or display are used with their beams at right angles passing through the patient from side to side and vertically through the bond. To prevent fogging due to stray radiation, electrons from the photocathode in the multiplier of the switched off channel, are deflected away from the target by an electromagnet automatically energised when the other channel is switched on.
