PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal-transfer recording method by which the energy applied to a heating element for forming an overcoat layer can be reduced and the quality of printing of a color image using a thermal sublimation ink ribbon can be kept for a long time.
SOLUTION: With the thermal-transfer method, energy is selectively applied to two or more heating elements of a thermal head 7, and the color image is formed by transferring the thermal sublimation ink for color printing to the image forming area of sheet, thereafter the energy is applied to the each heating element, and then the overcoat layer is formed by transferring a heat-fusible ink for over-coating to the image forming area. When the heat-fusible ink for over-coating is transferred, a gradation value as a gray scale of the color image is detected for each dot D composing the image forming area, and according to the gradation value the energy for over-coating applied to the each heating element is acquired, and then the energy for the over-coating is applied to the each heating element, respectively.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
