Yarn package building mechanism - from sections from top of package downwards

A package is built by successive overlapping sections being formed in sequence from the top downwards. Downwards displacement of sections during unwinding is thus prevented. A cam mechanism controls the tranversing of the ring rail or thread guide over the sections whilst a ratchet wheel and worm wheel control the progressive let-off of a chain which allows the ring rail or thread guide to descend.
