<p>A funnel shaped hopper, esp. for extruders, presses or injection moulding machines etc., with a vertical hollow feed screw containing a movable piston arranged above the outlet hole. The feeder is especially useful for adhesive and other non-freely flowing materials. The feed hopper (3) sits on the flange (1) on the barrel (2) of the extruder (8). The feed screw (4) has a hollow shaft and a conical profile tapering towards the outlet (5). The coaxial control channel (6) contains a piston (7) with piston rod (9). The piston head (7) can be moved down into the outlet (5) as far as the dotted line pstn.</p> |
