Hydraulically actuated pivotal die arm press for cutting leater or textile blanks is modified to prevent injury to operator due to displacement of die arm following inadvertent actuation of operating lever, the actuation of the control valve for the pivotal arm displacement being effected by contacts influenced by the operating lever to energise a pair of electro-magnets which are arranged in the control system that they are energised only when the contact protection relay is also energised by bridging over of insulated parts of the actuating lever. |
