摘要 <p>1301177 Coin testers G B KENT 22 July 1971 [22 July 1970] 35597/70 Heading G4V A coin-testing mechanism for multi-faceted coins comprises peripheral profile and rimtesting members, the rim-testing being on one or both, simultaneously or sequentially, of the flanges of the rim. In a particular embodiment a multi-faceted coin inserted through angled slot 1 falls in the direction of arrow 4 to reject path 5 if undersized, but otherwise is guided by member 2 along shoot 3 to be deflected by adjustable members 7 to a gauging member 9. If the coin is of the right peripheral contour the coin, after deflection, sits snugly in gauging member 9. At this stage, an underweight coin fails to rotate member 9 about pivot 10 against the action of counterweight 8 and is manually rejected. If the momentum of a coin is sufficient, member 9 rotates in the direction of arrow 4. An incorrectly dimensioned coin is engaged by member 17 and such a coin is rejected manually by rotating member 9 so that member 17 is rotated about pivot 18 against the action of spring 19. Reject action is combined with suitable movement of a deflection member 20. If a coin has a correct rim profile as well as size, the coin is held in gauging member 9 by rim gripper members 11, see also Fig. 2 (not reproduced), until the latter are released by member 21 which presses the free ends of gripper members 11 together. When thus released the coin follows accept path 22. With an incorrect rim profile, a coin falls along reject path 5. In multi-coin operation, coins accepted by the above described coin tester are collected on shoot 23. When full, a further coin is deflected from the uppermost coin thereon to actuate members 26, 27 which release shoot 23 to rotate about pivot 24. The coins are thus discharged and shoot 23 is reset by counterweight 28. A stop pin 25 is positionable to preselect the number of coins required and is also removable to allow return of the coins. Movement of shoot 23 may form an electrical or mechanical connection.</p>
