发明名称 METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FINISHING SHOE SOLES
摘要
1312077 Grinding BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO Ltd 1 June 1970 [2 June 1969] 26268/70 Heading B3D A machine for performing a marginal operation on unattached shoe soles comprises power operated means for feeding soles one by one along a straight path past an operating mechanism consisting of a tool support disposed to carry a tool for operating on marginal portions of a sole at one side of its toe to heel centre line as the sole is fed, and means responsive to an edge surface of the sole which effects movement of the tool support to carry the tool into cooperating contact with the sole, the movement being initiated relative to a ball point 14, Fig. 7, of the sole. As described the machine reduces the marginal portions of the sole from the ball points to the heel and, prior to this reduction, effect an initial reduction around the complete margin. The soles are fed one at a time from a gate 32, Fig. 13, and by a plurality of pairs of rollers 46, 48 past a first pair of tools 70, 72 which operate on opposite marginal portions of the soles to reduce the complete marginal portions and then past a second pair of tools 74, 76 which reduce the marginal portions from the ball points to the heels, each tool being a rotary abrading head 86, 88, 90, 92 driven by an air motor. The tools 70, 72 are mounted on respective pivoted arms 78, 80, Fig. 14, and urged towards the centre line of the shoe soles by springs 162, 166. Sideways thrust on the soles by the reducing tools is counter balanced by pressure equalizing means 94, 96 consisting of arms 102, 104 urged about pivots by springs 184, 194, each arm having a roller 172 and a yoke carrying a further roller 126, 128, the rollers engaged the edge of the sole opposite to that engaged by the tool. The tools 74, 76, Fig. 15, are mounted on arms 82, 84 urged about pivots 197, 198 by springs 199 for engagement with opposite edges of the sole, lateral thrust by the tools being counter balanced by pressure equali - zing means 98, 100 having rollers on the ends of arms 106, 108, the arms having yokes 122, 124 carrying further rollers 130, 132. The equalizing means 98 also includes a finger 200 having a pad 202 for closing a nozzle 204 in an air line 206 of a cylinder 210 having a piston 212 for engaging a stop 214 to move the tool 74 away from the sole after it has passed the equalizing means 98. A similar arrangement operates for the tool 76. The tool 76 is held out of engagement with the fore-part of the sole by a work engaging member 150 mounted on one arm of a bell crank 248, the other arm of which is connected to the rod 244 of a cylinder 240, Fig. 10. The supply to the cylinder is controlled by a nozzle 274 normally closed by a pad 278 on a device mounted on the pivot of the arm 84 and operable with a lag so that as the arm is pivoted outwardly with the member 150 engaging the fore part 12 of the sole, the cylinder maintains the member engaged with the sole but upon reverse movement of arm, a lag occurs in the movement of the pad so that it moves from the nozzle and the cylinder retracts its rod to withdraw the member and enable the tool 76 to abrade the sole from the ball point to the heel. A similar arrangement is provided for the tool 74. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,229,985.
