1363290 Poly-acrylate or -methacrylate esters KALLE AG 1 Nov 1971 [2 Nov 1970] 50578/71 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C3 and G2] Unsaturated esters of the formula where R is hydrogen or methyl, R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen, methyl or -O-CO-CR=CH 2 and X is a diacyl radical derived from a dicarboxylic acid having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, are prepared by reacting the diacid chloride Cl-X-Cl with the appropriate hydroxy di- or tri-(meth)acrylate ester. The reaction of adipic acid dichloride with trimethylolethane diacrylate, in the presence of CH 2 Cl 2 and pyridine, is described and other examples refer to products obtained by the same method replacing these reactants by trimethylolpropane diacrylate, penta-erythritol triacrylate or tri-methacrylate and by oxalic, itaconic, terephthalic, succinic, sebacic or glutaric acid dichloride, respectively.
