<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sealing structure with high a gas sealing property capable of retaining excellent durability and insulation property for long period. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell stack 1 is constructed by alternately laminating a plurality of power generating cells 5 formed by arranging electrode layers on both surfaces of a solid electrolyte layer, and separators having reaction gas flow passages 9, 10. The fuel cell stack 1 is provided with insulating manifold rings 15, 16 communicated with the gas flow passages 9, 10 through gas lead-in holes 13, 14 arranged in a direction of the thickness of the separator 8. The manifold rings 15, 16 are constructed by a glass layer 19 having a softening point higher than operation temperature of the fuel cell and metal layers 18, 18 arranged on both surfaces of the glass layer 19 so as not to stick out from the glass plate 19, and the inner diameter and outer diameter of the upper and lower metal layers 18, 18 are made different from each other.
