<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system having a structure which can recycle, by energy source required for driving of the system, heat and moisture generated at the time of generation of electric power in order to improve performance and thermal efficiency of the total system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system includes a reformer which generates hydrogen gas from fuel containing hydrogen using chemical catalyst reaction by thermal energy, at least one electric power generation unit which generates electric energy using electrochemical reaction between the hydrogen gas and oxygen, a fuel supply unit which supplies the fuel to the reformer, an oxygen supply unit which supplies the oxygen to the electric power generation unit, a first heat exchange unit which preheats the electric power generation unit by supplying the thermal energy of the reformer at the time of first starting of the system to the electric power generation unit, and a second heat exchange unit which makes the fuel circulate through the inside of the electric power generation unit at the time of normal starting of the system, makes the fuel cool the heat generated in the electric power generation unit, and supplies the reformer the fuel preheated in circulation in the electric power generation unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
