TITLE OF THE INVENTION "ESTERS OF DIHYDROAPOVINCAMINIC ACID" The invention relates to processes for the preparation of esters of general formula (I) (I) in which R represents a straight or branched saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms, optionally bearing 1 or 2 substituents which substituents may be the same or different and each represents a hydroxyl group or an alkoxy group whose alkyl portion is linear or branched and contains 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and their pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts. The esters and salts are suitable for the treatment of vascular, cerebral and respiratory disorders.
