PURPOSE:To secure the safety of a passenger in an electric motor vehicle by providing a safety device which operates a brake when a detachable cord for connecting a motor or a brake to a controller is removed. CONSTITUTION:The power lines of motors ML, MR, and speed control choppers 15L, 15R are connectee via a common power switch MSW1 and a cord 16 to a battery B. Brakes BCL, BCR, the cord 16, relay contacts 14L, 14R, a power switch MSW1 and the cord 16 are connected in series with the battery B in this sequence. Further, a safety relay SL is connected via the cord 16 to the battery B, and its contact SS is arranged by bypassing the route of the cord 167, the relay contacts 14L, 14R, the power switch MSW1 and the cord 16. When thus arranged, if the cord 16 is disconnected, the safety relay SL will stop the operation, thereby allowing the operation of the brakes BCL, BCR. |
