<p>The arrangement is intended for welding an assembly of a steel structure comprising a longitudinal rod (3) and a number of U-bent cross bars (4) at an inclined angle to the rod, particularly as concrete reinforcement. The straight bars (4) are supplied one at a time, to one or to each weld-bend unit (7) having at least one welding electrode (8) and at least one forked bending element. The rod is moved longitudinally in steps along a support track (12). Each time the rod stops, each bar is pressed on to the rod via an electrode (8) and then bent (11) around the bar by the fork (9) after which the bar is welded to the rod at the bending point. Bending and welding are combined in one operation, bending preceding welding so that welding heat stress-relieves the bent bar.</p> |
