PURPOSE:To enable printing high in speed, resolution, and quality, and cost reduction, by using an optical writing unit utilizing liquid crystals for a 2-color printing process. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 302 is charged with a charger 301, and exposed to an optical negative image using an optical writing unit utilizing liquid crystals. The written electrostatic latent image undergoes reversal development using a toner colored to a first color fed with a developing device 305, and transferred to paper 308 in a transferring station 307. The drum 302 is destaticized with an eraser lamp 310, and cleared of the remaining toner with a cleaner 311. The image-transferred paper 308 is delivered through a conveying system 312-314 again to the transferring station 307. A negative latent image formed likewise by optical writing is subjected to reversal development with a toner colored to a second color fed with a developing device 306, passed through the conveying system 314, and fixed in the fixing station 307, and 2-color printing is finished by destaticizing and cleaning the drum 302. |
