PURPOSE:To prevent the freezing of the titled hot water feeder by operating the hot water feeder accurately without being affected adversely by an anti-freezing heater by a method wherein a low temperature operating valve adopted to discharge supply water in a water passage when the temperature of the supply water drops below a predetermined value is provided at a part of the water passage where the temperature of the supply water drops most earlier. CONSTITUTION:A water pressure responsive valve 2 incorporates therein a water responsive switch operative in response to the pressure of the supply water in a water pipe 7 so as to ignite and extinguish a main burner 8 and a mechanism for mixing hot water from a heat exchanger 6 with the water supplied from a bypass pipe 9 and for adjusting the temperature of the mixed hot water. In this case, the water pressure responsive valve 2 is provided with the heater 11 for heating the valve 2 when the hot water feeder is not in use. Further, a hot water supply pipe 14 which connects the outlet port 12 of the heat exchanger 6 to the inlet port 13 of the valve 2 is connected with the low temperature operating valve 1 through a connecting pipe 15 at a position outside the hot water feeder. As a consequence, when the temperature of the supply water drops, the low temperature operating valve 1 is operated and the water in the water passage is caused to flow by discharging the water gradually due to its pressure, to thereby prevent the freezing of the water. |
