This invention relates to high energy density batteries, of a reserve type, designed for long storage lifetime and fast activation, and their activation system. This invention solves the volume drawbacks of reserve battery's mechanical activating system using detonating means, which occupy less space. So, an object of this invention is a reserve battery's activation system adapted for breaking the reserve battery's container such that the battery is activated comprising an activating signal generator providing an activating electric signal and detonating means which are ignited by said activating electric signal. A further object of this invention is to provide an alternative to mechanical activating system for avoiding their drawbacks (dependency to environmental influences, geometrical tolerances, complexity and the usage of moving parts) with the above-described activating system whose activating signal generator is electronically implemented. By this way, the reserve battery's activation system is reduced again in term of volume. |
