The modular storage unit has a framework of uprights (3) and crosspieces (1A,1B). A top (1B) and bottom (1A) crosspieces are horizontal and have the doors fixed to them. Two side uprights (3) each join one end of the top crosspiece (1B) to an end of the bottom (1A) crosspiece, with a staggering-connection (8) inbetween. Two crosspieces (4) extending depthwise are each fixed by a connection (7) to the rear of an upright. The crosspieces (1A,1B) have holes for the door-guide-rails (2). The depthwise crosspieces (4) have holes for supporting a shelf (5). A shelf-support crosspiece (6) is parallel to the depthwise crosspieces (4).
