<p>Assymmetric panel is made by serpentine or parallel strands of transparent or translucent thermoplastic material superficially fused together into a coherent panel. Pref. the strands are produced using dies with separate or intersecting multiple orifices, may have round or polygonal cross sections and opt. an integral twist to spread the transmitted light beams more widely and more uniformly. The strands may be tinted. Pref. each panel features one or more integral strand loops to be used subsequently to support the pendant panels. Simple to produce and to adapt to suit various panel area or plan dimensions. May be produced directly from extrudate matl. of e.g. polycarbonate in various standard or non-standard panel dimensions and to obtain a variety of diffusion patterns for functional or decorative purposes. Panels may have flat or curved or hollow cross-sections.</p> |
