PURPOSE:To prevent pulsation and to uniformly apply a coating liquid onto a drum by lifting and lowering a drum receiving base to raise the drum together with the coating liquid in a guide pipe so that the drum is put into and out of the liquid surface in a coating liquid tank and allowing the coating liquid to overflow and to flow in to the guide pipe. CONSTITUTION:The drum receiving base 30 ascends together with the guide pipe 20 and the top end face of the guide pipe 20 is exposed to the outside from the coating liquid level in the coating liquid tank 10 when a lifting rod 40 of a device for applying the coating liquid such as photosensitive material on the outside peripheral face of the cylindrical drum such as electrophotographic sensitive body. Only the drum receiving base 30 rises when the guide pipe 20 contacts a stopper 71. The coating liquid in the guide pipe 20 overflows from the top end of the guide pipe 20 and flows into the guide pipe 20 from the bottom end thereof. The coating liquid surface in the guide pipe 20 maintains an approximately the specified level in the above-mentioned manner. The coating liquid thus applied to the specified film thickness on the outside periphery of the drum 50. |
